Hello Little Z,
You’ve reached the grand old age of 3 years and 2 months!
We have had some dark and and storrrrmy nights. And besides that particular phrase being completely stuck in my head we’ve been blown about a bit in this terrible weather. It’s been pretty windy and all our park trips keep getting cut short. I can’t wait till it goes away for good and we get some proper sun. It feels as if I should run out and hold you up to it like Simba every time we get a rare glimpse of it at the moment, just to get some proper Vitamin D!
BUT you start pre-school in a week it so. And I can’t believe how quickly that’s come around. You’re only going a few mornings a week and I’m pretty sure you’re ready for it. You already keep asking to go and I think you’re going to love it. If I’m honest though I think I’m going to have to peel you off my leg for a few weeks because you’re going to be completely out of your comfort zone. Whilst its somewhat tempting to contort myself and hide in the doll house, just to keep an eye on you, I hear its a good pre-school and I think you’ll have a lot of fun there.
You continue to talk non stop and are pretty vocal about your views, including telling me about how you didn’t want to play with your play date because you didn’t like them, declaring instead that you want to play with your cousin A. Oops. I’ve managed to shush you in time. So far!
You’re starting to develop a massive love of football. I blame your Daddy for this. You love watching game after game and screaming “GOOAAL!” everytime someone scores. It doesn’t matter who it is. Your Daddy keeps encouraging you to support Liverpool. I’m not sure how that’s going to pan out. Apparently you have a good right foot on you and love kicking the ball as well as standing in nets, with both legs wide apart, determined not to let it get past you. Of course you randomly burst into dance too so it’s mostly just entertaining to watch.
We’ve realised this month that we might have a busy year coming up. There’s a lot to decide and some big decisions to make. And if we can, then we’re deterring to squeeze in a bit of sun somewhere. You keep suggesting “Turkey”. This may be a sign. Or it could be the only name of a country you know. Still! It’s in the hat!
So, until next time Little Z….Mwah!!
Hes the exact same age as my girl! She love preschool. She did weep a couple of times but they are good and you are allowed to phone as many times as you want. I used the old sticker chart. Also there is a programme on cbeebies called time for school? We watched that every morning before we went and she loved it. Good luck! xxx

Bless him! He’ll get some good fresh air at pre-school, whatever the weather! Love that he’s getting into football – all dads want their boys to have a good right foot! Hope he gets his trip to Turkey (or somewhere else lovely and warm!).

Can’t believe he’s about to start preschool – seems like only the other week you were going back to work after maternity leave. Nice for him to watch football with his dad. H always gets bored after a little while whatever the sport.

Gosh time flies doesn’t it. Z will love pre-school though – there will be so much to do there. He’ll be fine once he’s got used to the routine and people. Turkey is a great call, we went to Kalkan a couple of years back – it was wonderful. Enjoy the coming days with Z lovely π #whatsthestory

I’d be happy with Turkey! Good luck with the pre-school, I’m sure he’ll settle in just fine.
PS. Take yourself off to a cafe with a good book is my advice on the first day. Otherwise I would have cried.

Ooo, has he started yet? Despite CK going to nursery in Switzerland, I’ve found it really hard letting go of him now we’re back home. I don’t know how it’s different. He’s on half term this week, I’m so excited that I have him back for full days.

Preschool! That’s a big milestone and half the time its harder on the Mum than on the kids. LOL. I remember when my Kiddo started pre-K, I was the nervous wreck but I shouldn’t have worried. Kids are such resilient little people, they adapt very well especially when there’s lots to see. I’m sure he’ll do fine. π
Such a lovely update, sounds a lot like my little man who’s also a bit of a natter box at the moment. You definitely need the holiday before embarking on the preschool days! xx
